Subject: Shovelboard

Hello,

First of all, I would introduce myself: I'am a market research student at Tilburg University in Holland and I'am 21 years old. Friday morning, I was surfing on Internet and very surprisingly I saw the word "shovelboard". You have to know that one of my hobby's is "sjoelen"(dutch called). On the box of this game, "sjoelen" is translated in englisch with "shovelboard", but I know that this game in Holland is not the same as the game it is played in the rest of the world. I will explain the dutch game exactly:

You have a board with a length of 2 meters (by 0,6 meter)and at the end of the board, there are four holes in it. You have 30 stones or pieces and it's the intention to spread them equal in the holes. I've put the points you can get, above the picture. You can see that if there's in each hole a piece then you have 10 points (2+3+4+1) and you get a bonus of 10 points, so this will add to 20 points. With 30 pieces, it's possible to reach a maximal score of 148 points(namely 7* 20 points and the 2 remaining you throw in the 4-hole).

I think you now have a clear understanding of how the game is played in Holland. I would gladly know from you, if there's a place in the world where such a game is played in tournaments. Further, I would know more about the game, it is played in your country.

Have a nice day ,and shovel!!
