Brian and Scott dominate 2-0 match
By Brian Kulak
Dateline: 5 Oct. 1995, 8:30 P.M. The sun has set, the glove is off, and
a dynasty may be coming
to an end. With their battered pride sheilded only by the darkness,
veterans Rosenthal and
Larson sucked up their first major doubles loss and walked solemnly off
the court before a
dissapointed crowd. A pair of rowdy young prospects, Scott "Mad Dog"
Cole and Brian "Shaft"
Kulak took the shuffleboard world by surprise in defeating Team OX in two
straight games, 55-25
and 62-29.
. Kulak approached the game with Dr. Strangeglove on his right
hand and his trademark
PimpStick in the left, ready to send the Burger through the Lab Three
door. Cole, however, came
in with a stern, no-nonsense attitude and kept the team focused
throughout the match.
Under Cole's leadership, the
newbies took the first game
easily and pulled the second out with a +33 sweep in the final
round, vaulting into stardom
victorious in their debut match.

Larsseon Presents: A letter from Bruce Tahlbott; hope is in
his heart and glory is on his mind Translated
by Paul Z. Larsseon Benson, NC. -
As you know, I suffered a terrible accident when I tried to sky dive into
Durham last week. For four days, I had absolutely no movement, and I feared
that death was approaching. However, last night after the nurse had put
me through an intense session of rehab, I regained feeling in my right
hand. I just want to thank my millions of fans who sent me get-well
cards and flowers this past week. My fans are what helped me survive my
deep depression. Now that I have regained use of my right hand, doctors
have informed me that with the help of some local engineers, I might be
able to construct my wheel chair so that I can play shuffleboard again. I am
going to have to strengthen my shoulders considerably, but my dream is to
make it back to the circuit again. I thank everybody for the tremendous
support and hope to continue to improve. I
thank Paul Z. Larsseon for translating this
letter.
Sincerely, Bruce "Never Quit" Tahlbott
