"I believe that in two or three years, I have the talent, tenacity, and work ethic to become the best shuffleboard player in history!" - October 1994 "Everything I know, I owe to Jon [Calcut]... and I pray daily for his speedy recovery... [so he can] join me at the top of the ranks." - November 1995 |
Childhood Years: As a young
child, always showed a propensity for competiton. Displayed
particular talent in horseshoes, crochet, soccer, chess, basketball, and
badminton. When ten years old, went to Miami to visit his
grandfather who showed him how to play shuffleboard. Larsseon showed amazing
talent and was able to beat every senior citizen at the retirement
complex. One of the members at the retirement community noticed his
talent and gave him the phone number of Jon
Calcut, perhaps the best
teacher of shuffleboard in the entire southeast. At the age of eleven
Larsseon
traveled to New Orleans to take lessons with Jon and the rest is history.
1993 Season: Showed incredible strength...had a terrible drinking problem... expelled from a season-high 178 matches...revolutionized the concept of tit-for-tat.. 1994 Season: Sober, much more focused...was close in many matches, but couldn't quite pull off the big one...pin-point accuracy was improving...won DOG Open...strained left elbow in the end of the season and fizzled.. 1995 Season: Busted into the top twenty scene...incredible defensive skills with a potent offensive game...started traveling more...won the Great Slide by 47 points...won three consecutive weekends...at one point climbed to number six in the nation but lost to Lord Gravely...did not have a beer all season...frustrated opponents with mental focus... |
